Audi S6

Audi S6 has Launched in India.
NEW DELHI: On Friday , The India's largest selling luxury car-maker Audi introduced its luxury sports car S6 in the country at price of Rs 85.99 lakh (ex-showroom in Delhi).

Audi India Head Michael Perschke said in a statement.
"We are now happy to add the Audi S6 to our portfolio after the launch of the new Audi RS 5 Coupe earlier this month. With these launches, I am confident of consolidating our leadership position even further,"

The S6 is distinguished from the lesser, conservatively styled A6 sedan with a unique platinum-colored grille, horizontal elements in the front air intakes, aluminum mirror caps, a rear lip spoiler, and four exhaust outlets. The front intakes are surrounded by an additional strip that follows their outer contour. This element, not yet present on the S7, will be a trademark of all future S models, we’re told. Why a lip spoiler instead of a unique, fully formed trunklid? Because customers don’t notice the spoiler if it’s not a separate element, the designer tells us, and because Audi already went to the limit of manufacturing feasibility with the crease of the A6’s aluminum trunklid. We will cast yet another vote for the optional black wood and aluminum interior trim we liked so much in the S7.

The car will be available at all Audi dealerships across India immediately. The S6, a sporty version of the sedan A6, which is already present in India, can do 0-100 km/an hour in 4.6 seconds.

It is powered by a newly-developed, high-performance 4 litre, V-8 cylinder engine (with an option of driving on four cylinders also) and gives out an output of 420 BHP (309 kW) between 5500 - 6400 RPM ( peak torque of 550 Nm).
Besides Audi's proprietory Quattro all-wheel drive for stability, other features include MMI touch, 7 speed S tronic transmission, adaptive sport air suspension and quad exhaust outlets.

Loaded with high-end technology which makes the car feel a tad heavier than the average sports car like Audi R8 or a Lamborghini Gallardo, the Audi S6 is a sporty vehicle for city driving that offers a combination of speed, luxury and safety.

Unique in the Audi S6 is the Cylinder-on-demand (COD) technology which automatically shuts down four of the eight cylinders when they are not required, thus lowering the emission and ensuring better fuel efficiency.

The 'active noise cancellation' feature compensates for the noise interference inside the cabin depending on the in-cabin noise and engine noise.

The car maker continued its successful course in India with yet another good month in June and the company is reportedly considering manufacturing of its entry-level sedan A3 and SUV Q3 respectively at parent group Volkswagen's Chakan plant in Maharashtra.

The Audi model range in India includes the Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8L, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi S4, new Audi S6, Audi RS 5 Coupe, Audi TT Coupe, Audi R8 and the new Audi R8 Spyder available across the country.
