BMW M5

BMW M5 unveiled
Developed on the race track for everyday use. As an independent development of BMW M GmbH, the BMW M5 abides by the M Philosophy and perfectly combines high performance with suitability for everyday use.
The new BMW M5 was launched at the Auto Expo and can be now ordered as a CBU (completely built-up) unit at BMW dealerships across the country.

Fifth generation of the world’s most successful high-performance sedan. Under the bonnet of the new BMW M5 lies a newly developed, high-revving 4.4 litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology producing maximum output of 560bhp. The new BMW M5 sprints from 0 to 100kph in 4.4 seconds and breaks the 200kph barrier in 13 seconds with a top speed of 250kph.

The numbers speak for themselves: 680 Nm, 560 hp (412 kW), 0 to 100 km/h 4.3 seconds. The high-rev eight-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine of the new BMW M5 makes a statement with its performance and acceleration.

The remarkable engine power comes from the connection to a linear power curve with the extreme thrust of a double turbocharger. Enhanced intercoolers and the patented TwinScroll charging concept ensure a spontaneous response rate. The high torque is available across a wide speed range. The V8 jumps forward at every touch of the accelerator. Thanks to Valvetronic and High Precision Injection, the engine also sets standards for performance and fuel consumption. This results in an average of only 9.9 litres consumption when combined with BMW EfficientDynamics measures like Auto Start Stop function and Brake Energy Regeneration.

Design.

Perfection and beauty belong together. Aesthetics isn't just a matter of surface, colour, paintwork or material – it is also expressed via aerodynamic design and other technical qualities. The designers and engineers at BMW M know that form and function go hand in hand, and they work to create solutions that combine these two aspects into a single, spectacular work of art.
A sports car has no unnecessary details. This is true above all for aerodynamics: even the wing mirrors of a BMW M have to perform well in the wind tunnel. But air doesn't have to be all about resistance: the wide intakes in the characteristic M front apron let the engine breathe and cool the large brake discs of the M light alloy wheels, while the airflow along the rear diffuser lends added downforce. A consistent focus on performance that’s continued in the interior. The most important functions belong within the driver’s easy reach. The cockpit ergonomics and material workmanship are subject to strict performance-orientated criteria. Every detail adds to the overall image of an athlete in peak condition. And in the case of the BMW M5, to an athlete with the style and understatement of a comfortable sedan.

Exterior Design.

The BMW M5 Sedan. A creation combining the best of both worlds – classical elegance and challenging performance. Vehicle design that uses only the highest standards as a yardstick.
The striking character of a powerful athlete is integrated seamlessly into the flowing silhouette of a sedan. Its purpose is to unite both halves and it carries this out with temperament and understatement. The exclusive Monte Carlo Blue metallic M paintwork shows off the vehicle’s racing background and its tapered modelled front lets air resistance simply glide past. Its high-performance transmission and compound disc brakes are cooled via the air inlets. The exposed wheel arches surround the optional 20-inch M light alloy wheels 343 M. The curved M exterior mirrors deflect the wind. The M rear spoiler and diffuser provide a powerful backdrop for the final sporty touch added by the twin tailpipes.

Cockpit.

An atmosphere of sportiness prevails in the cockpit of the BMW M5 Sedan, to which the interior of an elegant sedan is a thrilling contrast. Everything is orientated towards the driver.
The M leather steering wheel is made of fine Nappa leather, whose rough surface allows the driver to get a better grip. The stitching in M colours exudes class and underscores the vehicle's sporting character. The Aluminium shift paddles – right for up and left for down – enable quick and easy gear change. The M Drive Mode has two profiles, which can be selected using the M buttons. The M instrument panel displays the most important data. In the optional BMW Head-Up Display, the driver is shown important information about speed, gear, the optimal moment to change gear as well the speed limit in an M-specific format. This attention to detail leaves no doubt as to what the BMW M5 was made for – unadulterated, exclusive high-speed driving pleasure.

The ex-showroom price of the new BMW M5 is Rs 95.9 lakh.
